   These are some of the rocks I have collected in the last few years,after a time.I'll turn them loose in a river,so someone else can find them.They are not for sale,go find some your self.

        I also collect sea shells from the sea shore.     These are  from the Manzanillo area,and Baja,Mexico.

       We do use a sluice box that is of normal size,along with the other items you see.Both of us have iffy backs,and we are senior citizens,so,heavy lifting,is not going to happen. I bought one of those VORTEX Dream mats,haven't gotten to the area where we find a fair amount of gold,yet. Too busy getting ready for winter,painting the house,and leveling a low spot,plus,we need to get a lot of insulation for the attic.This is my third house I've bought over the last 40 years,nothing will keep you busy,like buying an old house.   Public land use to be called public land,however,like so many things we enjoyed in the past,has changed.It is now  Forestry land,or BLM land,we,the public,go to war,to keep enemies from our gates,so to speak,we serve in many jobs as citizens also that help fellow citizens.Why did the public land change from land owned by the public?  Rock Hounding Southern Oregon     Who hasn't looked down,and saw a rock that excited them,a bit.Many are beautiful,and fascinating,all you have to do is pick it up.My girl friend has been a rock hound for most of her life,and I to have picked up rocks in several different countries over decades Many people think of the beach as the place to go for rock hounding,however,rocks are every where there is water,or erosion.In Oregon,sneaker waves can,and will take you out into the cold Pacific,if you are not paying attention.Inland mosquitoes,blow flies,stinging needles,poison oak,rattle snakes,slippery rocks,and critters,like ticks,can make it more interesting,or make you stay at home,and watch TV.I have found myself with itchy arms,and other places that itch like crazy from poison oak,and stinging nettles,it goes away,you don't have to chew your arm off. The best time to look for rocks on the beach is after a storm,but then again,the sneaker waves are very active during and a...
